Peace!

This will be my last post for at least one week. The boys and I are headed to the surface of the sun. Locals call it Phoenix. I call it damn hot. Anyway, my little sister is getting married - and I plan to be there for the festivities. Photo documentation will be presented after I've recovered. Peace out y'all.

Gross.

This afternoon the snack for the kiddos was water and goldfish. Normal enough apart...

Absolutely horrific together. Or at least that is what I think. Kieran thought different. He ate it all. ALL. *shudder*

Some Baby Lovin's...

Some of my childhood dolls have made it onto the cubbies for the boys. It turns out that dolls for boys is a good idea - (though, I would prolly do it anyway since I don't plan on having a girl to give them to) - apparently the word is that it helps foster compassion, tenderness, and other maternalesque stuff in boys. Woot! Well, the favorites seem to be my cabbage patch twins. Antonia and Barkley.

Kieran and Barkley. Awww... how sweet. He was airplaneing him - just like Mark does with the boys.

And a story...

Last night the toy B-rox chose to take with him on the trip to pick up Mark from the Metro was Barkley. A few miles after we were on the freeway I hear this from the backseat

B: "MOOOOOOOOOM - OH NO OH NO OH NO!!!!!"

Me: "Holy moly, what is wrong - what's happening - are you ok?"

B: "WHERE IS BARKLEY'S BEEP? HE DOESN'T HAVE ONE AND HE HAS TO GO PEE!"

Me: (I look in the kidview mirror and discover that Barkley's pants are around his ankles) "Uhhh, I don't think he came with one honey"

B: "Oh man, he [Barkley] is SO sad about this".

Laughter is NOT good for driving on the freeway...

I think I'll keep them...

In Parent's Magazine this month the uber cool craft idea was to make mother's day flowers from old magazines. I thought it was pretty nifty so I figured the boys and I could make them for all the moms on our list. Well... I like them better in my house. So it's on to project numero two. Within this boquet there are many hunky faces such as Clive Owen and Marky Mark, Pottery Bark Kids rooms, the cover page for a drug smuggling ring article, and some random stuff from some of the other mag's we have subscriptions to. These three are some of the coolest. Skechers Advert. Marky Mark's face, and a random "Runner's World" advert. This flower turned out to be my favorite. It's a skechers spring shoe sale advertisement.

Clean up time

Because Braxton has inherited his father's ability to "look" for stuff, I've begun throwing all the toys scattered around into a bin - then he is required to pull each toy out and put it where it belongs. It seems to be working for the moment...

This is the result I recieved from his efforts the other day.

It could just be me, but I am fairly certain that those toys do NOT share the shelf with the cable box.

Power Song

For running assistance I have the Nike + system. It's the little sensor that goes in your shoe, and the adaptor that plugs into your ipod. It's not necessary to the running process, but I enjoy knowing exactly how far I went and what my pace was while not having to strap something onto my ankle or wrist other than my ipod. There are all sorts of nifty little things it can do. I love it. However, yesterday I think it was trying to tell me something. There is a function, that while on your run, when you start flagging - you press the center button and it plays your "power song". (It will also play spoken words of encouragement, if you've recorded them). I have not programmed any song for this function - or spoken word. I hit the buttton by accident while trying to turn the volume down. A few seconds after I hit the button I hear a few fairly distinct guitar riffs... The song that played you ask? Queen's "Fat Bottom Girls". Let me tell you - that was one hell of a motivator...

Happy Birthday!!!

My husband turns a quarter of a century old today. 25 years old! I met this man when he was still pretty much a boy - he was 19 and I was not quite 18! Crazy right?

So, as you can see from this picture, he'll always be a boy at heart...

Love you Marky Sparky! I'm sorry that you're going to be at work until 8 tonight, and we're not doing anything spectacular. You deserve spectacular. I guess you're going to have to settle for spectacles... hehe. Love ya babe. Happy 25th.

To entertain...

My Bob posted this quiz on her blog.

My result is: Loft.

The verdict is in—your style is Loft. Loft is energetic. Fashion-driven. Practical. Materials borrowed from industry, architecture, and nature. Clean shapes. Punches of color. Spontaneous and fresh. Kids and pets? Bring them on.
This online portfolio shows your style. Brought to life in rooms. A subtle mix of furniture, accessories, and attitude. Different “looks.” Because every home should be unique. Come see.

Pretty much nailed it.

What happens when...

...your little brother is as big as you are.
Love these boys!

Egg Dyeing

This year Mark and I let the boys dye Easter eggs. Yeah, we're a little crazy - but the boys totally loved it and that is what counts right?
Kieran decided to just dunk his hand and let it sit... It was awesome.
B-rox contemplating his next move. He, with the exception of his fingertips, remained mess free. Amazing.
One from each of us. From left to right. Mine, Kenny/daddy, B-rox.

Kenny's First Cut

In an attempt to save Kieran from growing the awesome Mullet his brother sported for much longer than I should have let him, we took Kieran to get his first haircut. Since the awesomeness of Tawndy wasn't to be had for this cut, it was totally traumatic. He looks WAY cute though.

Dancing to his own tune. Me and my family - we're good at that.

A failed experiment

The other day we had plans to go up to Jill and Joey's house to decorate cupcakes. I had seen on the side of a cake mix box this awesome idea to bake the cupcakes inside of ice cream cones. So, I prebaked them, that way we could just decorate our little hearts out...

They did not turn out so awesome...

I baked more, the regular way.

The Jesus Show and Rabbit Dinner.

We kicked off the morning in usual Easter fashion by getting fashionable! We all got new outfits, and I must say we looked awesome!

So looking at me isn't their strong suit. But they do look very handsome. Braxton picked out his tie. Mark and I were just going to put a sweater vest on him, but he wanted a tie. Go figure. My new Easter dress and shoes. The dress cost 9 dollars. Thank God for sample sales. And yes, I look silly. But, you can't learn new things unless you try...

Ok, technically, before all the being fashionable and whatnot, we were surprised by the Easter Bunny!!!

Can't you just feel the excitement? That tricky Easter bunny...Bringing the loot back in.

It was a pretty awesome Easter! We went to the "Jesus show" (Mass) and listened to the sermon given by Herman the Easter Monkey. (Yes, we did attend the children's mass...) Then we had a fabulous Easter dinner. Thank you Dream Dinners...

Thanks God for all the wonderful things you do for us. Like give us your son to die for our sins. And beautiful weather to celebrate the ascension with each year.

Just to wet your appetite...

Tomorrow Lent is officially OVER!!!! Get ready to deal with blogzilla! Seriously, I have several stored up. Anyway, this is for those who know I just cut all my hair off. It didn't turn out quite like what I had in mind - but I still way like it.

Yeah, I need to work on my emo shots.

Anyway... hold on to your britches tomorrow 'cuz I'm gonna blog 'til my eyeballs fall out.

What my thought bubbles would be...

... If I were a cartoon.

~Is it a sin to look hawt at church? Those red patent leather pumps would look awesome with my Easter dress...

~Payback is a bioch... Never a blemish during high school, but now that I'm grown I get breakouts once a month. Not awesome.

~Is it safe to eat potstickers every single day for lunch? 'Cuz I totally have.

~Is it ok to squirt my son with a spray bottle whenever he sasses me? It works for dogs and barking...

~Am I a bad mother for that last thought?

~I need to get out for my run. It's just so windy that the boys will complain about it. That is not motivational - at all.

~its time to get off the computer. My hour is up. Damn. Just a few more days - I can do it!~

Some B-roxism's

Here are a few peeks into how my eldest child's mind works:

~ The other day Braxton and I were cuddling on the couch, when I whispered into his ear "I love you". A few minutes later I did it again. Braxton responded with an "I love you I love you I love you I love you!". I said "That sure was a lot of "I love you's". Braxton: "Yeah, its so I don't have to say it for a while".
Apparently I wear him out with my love...

Yesterday we were reading the Easter story, and discussing how when we sin we need to pray for forgiveness to our heavenly father. Braxton tells me "Mom, we can't - he's not our father - his hair is too long, so he's not a boy!". I wasn't quite sure how to approach that one.

There was another one I had intended to post, but I have forgotten what it was. I seriously need to get better about writing this in my journal...

Because...

My house is a mess and I don't want to clean it.
Some candy goodness:

Doesn't he look tasty?
