Walk = A good way to exhaust a toddler.

Today after running a few errands we decided that Braxton needed to burn off some energy. So we went for a two hour walk around the neighborhood.Somewhere he got the idea that monsters live under manhole covers and down drainage systems. I can't be sure but I'm pretty sure this is the doing of his Uncle Sneaky. On this trip he was pretty brave and decided to tell the monsters to "go away". "They were being naughty. Silly monsters. " Nothing on our route was left unexplored. Every single one of these power/cable box deals were banged on by the B-rox. Mark didn't adjust the straps for Kieran so he slid down. This is how I found him when I peeked in on him a little ways into the walk. I'm not so sure he was very happy about it... At the very end Braxton gave up and decided that he needed some assistance in getting back home. Until we hit the playground...
This is one of the few shots of Braxton's face that I got during these two hours. I took a total of 90 pictures while we were out. I just couldn't keep up with him. He's a crazy little booger.
He sure looks excited about this doesn't he????
They were going "super fast down the slide" according to Braxton. They actually did move a little fast so the framing of the picture isn't great. You get the sentiment though. Braxton and daddy having a blast, and total excitement from Kenny yet again.
So being the mean mommy that I am, I told him it was time to go, then took a picture. I knew he'd have some pretty great expressions. However, this was the only one I got before he decided he had found a solution to the problem...
...He figured if he shut the gate we couldn't go anywhere. Smart thinkin.
We're at home. Now he shows some excitement. I have crazy kids.

We have a winner

Bob, or aunt bop according to Braxton, has won my movie quote question. She gets a shoutout. This is it. What did you expect????

Cute and Cuddly boys - Cute and Cuddly!

Ok, if anybody can name the movie that line is from I'll give you a shoutout. Its from Braxton's latest favorite movie.
Anyway, I got some cute pics of Kieran cuddling with different people and objects. Braxton I think is beyond looking cute and cuddly. So we'll find a different title for a post about him...
My Aunt Ann made this blanket for Kieran. He always sleeps better when this is what we use to cover him. Must be the smell or something. They're seriously awesome blankets. The one she made for Braxton is his favorite. He can't exist without it. Seriously. Hopefully Kieran follows suit...
While I was with my parents my mom invited one of her friends over to visit. While she was there we sat around talking (duh). I had to do something for Braxton so I put Kieran on the couch next to my mom while I was busy. He was very happy sitting there. He even contributed to the conversation a bit. Miss you mom!
He seriously wanted that rattle.
He ran out of rations apparently. Had to give up the fight.
This is what I got when I asked Mark "not" to put him to sleep. Apparently Kenny didn't get the memo.

Back in Bizness!

Ok folks, I'm geared up with a brand spankin' new computer and a screamin fast internet connection. The McDaniel Family Circus blog will now cease to be dormant!

In our house we have a bay window. Our house is situated facing East/West so we always have sunlight coming through one side of the other. We put our chaise lounger thing in the bay window so I could sit there and soak up the rays from the comfort of a UV protected window and read. Yeah, like I have time to sit and lounge and read. HAHA. Anyway, Braxton likes to pretend to "take naps" in it. Yesterday both the boys were sitting there and guess what I did. Of course - I took pictures.
I love the look on Kieran's face. It seems so... I dunno; old, wise, smart... something like that anyway. Braxton of course looks like he's plotting to take over the world, and couldn't be happier.

I have no idea what was so interesting over there... but something was. Looks to be pretty funny from B-rox's face.

That was that adventure. Stay tuned. I have two and a half weeks to catch up on.

Missionaries, Telemarketers and the Homeless.

While I'm waiting for all of the pictures on my camera to upload to the computer I'm going to touch base on a couple of subjects that are normall taboo, but since moving here have been on my mind alot.

The first is Missionaries. Since living here we've been visited by Jehovah's witnesses twice and members from the LDS church once. Now I'm telling you this because I have some pretty strong feelings about this. I don't mind them coming to my door to proselytize. Honestly I don't. I respect them for what they are doing and commend them for trying to bring more people into the faith of Jesus Christ. Honestly, I'm not sure that I could stand to walk around and do what they do with all the rejection they must recieve. Especially from those that are somewhat less friendly. What I do seem to have issues with however, is saying no to them. Even though I'm very happy with my particular religion and have no intent to convert to anything else. I enjoy hearing my doorbell ring it gives me a break up in my day and fresh faces to talk to. (We've moved so many times I don't have many friends that are local yet...) However I also dread it because I know I'm going to have to say no to them. I never know how to do it. EVER. To make matters worse - I've never seen an unfriendly missionary. (I think it would defeat the purpose.) So they always want to chat, and being the polite little lady that I am I don't like to interrupt their schpeil. Especially members of the LDS church once they find out that I have a HUGE mormon family. This last group to visit me in fact claims an aquaintance with one of my cousins. Go figure right???? While I appreciate them chatting with me and such it only makes it harder to tell them that I'm not interested. I want to be nice to them when all they've done is make an effort to save my soul. I prefer to think I have already been saved. However them being complete strangers when they ring my doorbell kind of keeps them from knowing that information. Maybe thats the solution. Put a big ol' sign up that says "Thank you, but I've already been saved"....

The next subject is telemarketers. I have strong feelings about this as well. However, not quite as positive as my views on missionaries. We had our internet, tv and phone connected to the verizon FIOS (sorry, I had to put that in, they have it emblazoned EVERYWHERE) system yesterday. Two minutes and thirty-seven seconds after our phone was connected we had a telemarketing call. *alright, I made up the thirty-seven seconds part* but seriously, it was just as he was telling us he had just connected the phone and to check for a dail tone. It scared the bujeezus out of me. Now, I know they are only trying to earn a paycheck and bring home the bacon and what-not. That part I can handle. The part I have a difficult time dealing with is half the time I don't understand them. They either do not have a good enough grasp on the English language to be dealing with people in a customer relations bit, or they mumble or the last lady sat there and coughed the whole time "we'd *cough cough* like to *cough cough* offer you *cough cough* a lower mortgage rate *cough cough*. NO exaggeration. Those calls are much easier to say no than people selling the Lord. If you want me to buy something from you SPEAK CLEARLY!!!!! The last person that did scored $20 for the VA State Police Association.

The next subject is the Homeless. I have a hard time with this one too. All I want to do is give them money or food to help them out because I have such a hard time seeing people suffer. But then I'm torn because I know a large portion of the time they are just going to blow it on booze. So would it be polite to ask them "are you going to buy food and possibly shelter with this, or are you going to drink it???" Then my other issue is if they are capable of dodging in and out of traffic to beg for money shouldn't they be able to get a job??? Especially here in DC. People are vicious. Seems to me if you can dodge this traffic you must surely be able to get some kind of job. Like an acrobat in a freakin circus. May not pay well but at least they put a roof over your head!

incommunicado!

Ok folks, I'm not going to be able to post for a while. Before we left the wonderful city of Pittsburgh (yes, that was sarcastic), both of our computers crashed. So until Mark and I can afford to purchase one of those evil demons the world seems to thrive on there will be no McDaniel family updates. However, once I'm back in the real world, (its kinda weird saying cyberspace is the real world...) I'll blog my head off!!!!!!! 'Til then!

Go Beavs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, I'm sure if you know me you know that I'm a true Beaver Believer. Even when we suck (which with the exception of baseball is quite often - I will however say kudos to the football team this year beating the stinky Ducks at Autzen!) I still love them. How can you not????? Anyway here are some beaver moments from the weekend with Bob. Ok, so this wasn't from our weekend, but its a picture of my favorite cheerleader Jordan Stutzman!!!!!!!! He's the one at the very bottom of the picture. Representin' on our hike up the butt. Teaching my kids who the coolest school is!
On our way back from our girls day in Bend, we passed a Semi that was decked out in all kinds of Orange and Black. Look at that angry beaver!!!!!
Here is the backside of the truck. This poor truck driver didn't know what the heck we wanted. We passed and backed off a couple of times.... He was a good sport though.

Here is the back of the truck again. This time some color.

All I gotta say is GO BEAVS!!!!!!!!!!
